Clown Loach

Clown Loaches are a rather large fish reaching 11-12 inches in size. Substrate for this fish should be soft, as they like to dig for food. It is not uncommon for a clown loach to lie on its side while resting, and aquarists often become alarmed upon seeing this behavior for the first time. The clown loaches love for snails makes them an ideal fish for controlling the snail population. The clown loach is prone to contracting ICK, and since it is considered a scaleless fish medicating should be done with a mild medication such as Aquari-Sol.

Red Belly Pacu

Pacu’s are very large fish reaching up to 24 inches as adults, and require extremely large tanks of well over 100-gallons to thrive. Pacu’s are often confused with their carnivorous cousin the piranha, but unlike the piranha, pacu’s are vegetarians. So when decorating your tank it is unwise to add live plants as they will be eaten in no time. Due to the fact that pacu’s frighten easily it is best to find decorations that are unbreakable or better yet decorate only with plastic plants to prevent anything from being knocked into the side of the tank. Otherwise you risk having your floor soaked from a busted tank. Since pacu’s have very small scales they also require milder medications like the clown loach, and malachite green is a big no no for this fish.
